Upwork vs Fiverr
Upwork:
Previously, Upwork was known as “Elance-oDesk.” This is due to the fact that it was once two separate freelance sites: oDesk and Elance.
Before Upwork, Elance and oDesk were the two largest freelancing sites that were battling it out for dominance. Following the merger, Upwork rebranded and became the largest freelance marketplace in the world.
Upwork also has a lot of tools and options to offer. This includes features like a “Work Diary” that counts your project hours (by collecting screenshots of your computer and counting keystrokes), integrated invoicing and payment processing, collaboration tools, and more.
Fiverr:
Fiverr had a completely different start. Fiverr’s original goal was to allow you to buy “anything for a fiver.” As a result, the name! Typically, this would entail novelty “gigs,” such as caricatures, custom songs, voiceovers, and so on.
However, Fiverr attracted a lot of creative experts who sold projects like video edits, unique video openers, brief copywriting passages, and so on. Fiverr gradually shifted its focus to this new direction, finally establishing itself as a real marketplace for buying and selling services. While novelty jobs are still available, the organization focuses on digital marketing, writing and translation, programming, music, and other related fields.
Upwork and Fiverr are both freelance platforms. Fiverr, on the other hand, caters to creative workers who work on a more “gig-based” basis. Upwork, on the other hand, has evolved into a more traditional recruitment tool and job-listings site.
Fees on Upwork vs Fiverr
Another similarity between Fiverr and Upwork is their price structure. On payments sent, both Fiverr and Upwork charge a commission. Fiverr, on the other hand, is less expensive than Upwork.
Fiverr charges $1 for gigs under $20 and 5% for payments over that amount. This means that if you were paid $100 to edit two minutes of video, you’d collect $95. However, you will have to process payments through PayPal, which will cost you an extra 2.9 percent + $0.30. As a result, you would receive $91.95.
Accounts on Upwork Plus vs Fiverr Pro
Those that want more out of their Upwork or Fiverr accounts may consider upgrading to Upwork Plus or Fiverr Pro.
You’ll get 80 monthly Connects with an Upwork Plus membership vs. 10 with a standard subscription (a proposal can cost you more than 1 Connect). Other perks include enhanced reporting, a custom URL, and the ability to see competitor bids, among others. The cost of Plus membership is $14.99 per month.
